Question How do I know what type of vending machine I have?
Answer

Vending machines can usually be identified by the coin mechanism connection.

  • 8 Pin coin mech (Single Price)
  • 12 or 15 Pin coin mech (Micromech)
  • Molex connection (Multi-Drop Bus MDB)
   
Question When I power up the vending machine, "Out of Service 63" is displayed on the Debitek reader...
Answer Program your prices using the data collector.
 
Question When I power up by data collector, it displays "Trap" or "Missing Proc" and will not function...
Answer Remove the battery from the data collector and disconnect the AC power. Be sure the RAM pack and Datapak are in place. The Comms-link cable must be connected. Hold down the "clear" key for 20 seconds to clear the error. Note: Time must be reset in the data collector when the battery is removed to clear errors.
 
Question My Debitek Cash to Card displays "Out of Service 67"...
Answer Insert Wake-up card.
 
Question My bill validator will only take the bill in half way...
Answer Clean the validator (use bill validator cleaning cards for Rowe and Mars brands). Check the stacker for jammed bills.
 
Question The copier will not make a copy even though there is enough money on the card for one copy...
Answer Some copy machines have late pulses called "exit delay." The exit delay is programmable to prevent copies from being loaded into the feed tray if there is not enough money on the card to make copies.
 
Question After making copies, my card will no longer work in any machine - the display reads "9999"...
Answer "9999" is a security code written to the card. It alerts the site administrator that something interrupted the cycle and needs to be investigated.
   
Question The display on my Cash to Card reads "ERROR" with no error number. How do I know what's wrong?
Answer If no error number is displayed, the problem is likely related to the bill acceptor. Make a thorough check of the bill acceptor, then cycle the power on the machine.
   
Question My card reader is displaying "192" and won't function. What does this mean?
Answer Either a "192" or a "193" on the reader signify that factory service will be required. Both problems are related to the reader's microprocessor and typically cannot be repaired in the field.
   
Question Card reader display's "STARTING" ?
Answer Connect the Palm data collector to the card reader. Power down the machine. Power up the machine with the Palm data collector connected. This will allow you re--program the configuration on the reader.

Question My card reader displays out of service 87?
Answer Insert System Key Card
   
Question My card reader displays error 49 when I insert my card?
Answer Card has expired. Re-set the date and time in the card reader with the Palm Data Collector. If the problem persist check the expiration date on the card with Prime Solutions User CardMaker Software.
   
Question When downloading from the Palm Data Collector to the DebUtil software, I get a communication error?
Answer Check to see if your hotsync manager is running, if so, exit the hotsync manager program and try again.
